Jack's First Concert
We were surfin the net a couple days ago, and found out that Jack Johnson is starting off this year's tour by playin a free concert, on the Santa Monica Beach. We decided it was time for our Jack to experience his first concert before he gets too old (can't believe he turns one tomorrow)! Dan came home at lunch and we headed to the coast early so we could be the traffic and the crowds. We got a chance to check out the pier, do some people watching and relax on the beach.
So this movie is sideways, but funny! Jack was watching a kite in the distance and I happened to catch this moment on video. I think its hilarious, does that make me a bad mom?
Jack was a trooper and had a lot of fun. One year old and living life to the fullest! Stay tuned for B-day pics.

May is the best month
May is the best month of the year because both of my boys have their birthdays in May! Dan's was the 14th and Jack's is the 25th.
For Dan's birthday we got a sitter (thanks Rachel!) and went to a matinee of the new Robin Hood. Below are my boys eating birthday dinner at Izzy's. I like how Jack is making an effort to get in the picture.
The next day we continued the celebration by going to the beach!

Banana's & Balls & Bears, Oh My!
Jack has starting to mimic words and has even learned a couple. He can say Banana (well nana mostly), Ball, and Bear. We have a bear book and below is a movie clip of what he did when Dan got out that book.
Jack's top teeth have finally made their entrance! This pic is a little old, his leftie has also come in recently.
Here is Jack's first owie. He was standing against our screen door and Dan opened it, not knowing he was there, and Jack came tumbling out! Jack has been mastering the spoon and with little causalities!
He also is becoming a pro at drinking with a cup. He never caught onto sippy cups.
Yup, Jack is still crawling and loving it!
Jack has had some alergic reactions to food recently and so we went to an Alergist to get him tested. He is alergic to peanuts, almonds, pistachios, and basically all tree nuts. Luckily we haven't feed him any nuts yet, it seems he has been reacting because some food we have been giving him was processed where nuts were processed. We are glad to finally know what is going on!

What can you get for $20?
We went to the farmers market today and got this for $20: brussel sprouts, green beans, asparagus, zucchini, peas, tomatoes, green peppers, carrots, leeks, beets, and onions. They were all locally grown and fresh (and from what we've sampled to this point delicious), unlike the things they call vegetables in the grocery store! We are tired of tasteless, textureless produce, and since almost everything is always in season in Southern California we have decided to bid the supermarket veggies adieu!
