The Last Saturday!
Dan starts school next Thursday so we had to end the summer with a bang! We slept in this morning, which rarely happens! Then we went to the beach and chilled. It was a perfect day at the beach (although the water was a little cold), and there was a slight breeze so we got to see a lot of sailboats. When we got home we ran a couple of errands, one of which was buying Dan some new school clothes. You would think that buying school clothes would stop after you were 17 or so, but at 24 years old the tradition continues:) For dinner we decided to have BBQ chicken and potatoes. It was deeelish! Our new apartment has a community BBQ in each courtyard. We are totally taking advantage of this! How much better can it get, the beach and BBQ in the same day? I think we made the best of our last Saturday!

4 months later and we are at it again!
Dan and I moved this last weekend. I know what you are thinking... yes we just moved to our last apartment 4 months ago and we are moving again! We have actually been planning on it though. Our last apartment gave us a pretty good deal on a 4 month lease and then raised the price plus we would have to sign a year long lease with them in order to stay. So Dan and I did the not so convenient thing, and moved. We are happy we did. We moved to some apartments that are still in our same ward, the rent is $300 less, and we didn't even have to sign a lease! The managers really hooked us up by giving us brand new carpet, brand new paint job, new stove, dishwasher, sinks, counters, tile, toilets, and ceiling fans! We also live close to a couple of friends from the Ward that live in the same apartment complex! We love our new home:) Enjoy some of our pics, keep in mind we are still unpacking, I just couldn't wait to post!

Our 2nd Bedroom/Office/Storage Rom, and yes those are our washer and dryer. The one down to our new apartment is that is doesn't have hookups. The good thing is that they have a washer and dryer right down the hall, so at least we don't have to go to a Laundromat!

Gotta Love Campagning!
Dan and I were involved with campaigning for Proposition 8! So you wanna here something crazy? Well in 2000 Proposition 22 passed, 61% of California voted against same sex marriage being legal. Well 4 judges in San Francisco overturned that proposition dispite the majority vote, making same sex marriage legal. This November Proposition 8 is on the ballot to make same sex marriage illegal. And if it passes this time it will be an ammendment and will not be able to be overturned ever again. We have rallied with Christians in California to spread the word and support Proposition 8. We went door to door and made phone calls today. Most are receptive to our cause and agree with us. I love politics and fighting for my beliefs!Wednesday, September 3, 2008
Labor Day Weekend!!!
We took advantage of the long weekend and drove up to visit Dan's brother and his family. They live in the Central Valley about an hour and a half East of San Francisco (so you better believe we visited San Francisco too). We left Friday at noon and drove the 6 hours to their house. After we got out of the LA Valley, we drove through mile after mile after 250th mile through farmers fields. It was kind of fun at first, but it got a little boring after a while. Below are pictures of an almond orchard and a vineyard.
When we finally arrived we got to have some fun with Eric, our nephew. He was full of energy and we had fun reading with him and playing with him, and Dan had a lot of fun rough housing with him. Eric learned a new word during our stay: BODYSLAM!
Here I am with Lucy our sister-in-law. She is pregnant, due in October with another boy that Uncle Dan will be able wrestle with.
After church on Sunday Eric's parents took a long time coming out to the car, so we took some pictures. Here's Eric with Aunt Em. Uncle Dan and Eric had plenty of time to be boys. They played with sticks, poked stuff, climbed trees, dropped sticks into drains and of course stuck their hands in the soil. Here are a few action shots:
San Francisco
On Saturday we drove the hour and a half in to San Francisco. This is my attempt at a picture driving across the Bay Bridge. It was cool, but not quite as cool as the more famous Bridge (a picture of that still to come).
