Jack at his finest

Our first week with Jack has been a fun/crazy one. We are getting to know him better and how he ticks. Dan was able to stay home all week with us which was really helpful. The first couple of days were filled with lots sleep deprivation, but we are finally getting our sleeping shifts down so that is good. We are obsessed with taking pictures of our little Jack, here are a few that we like a lot.
Jack likes to give his dad big hugs! Check out his gorilla arms.
Big stretches! I remember him doing this in my stomach which wasn't very comfortable!

Here is Jack on his first walk. He pretty much slept the whole time, but he sleeps a lot so that isn't any surprise.

Here is a pic of him with his eyes open. It is so much fun when he is awake, which only happens for 5.2 seconds during the day and 5.2 hours at night.

This wasn't one of Jack's happiest moments. We have been putting this off since we knew he wouldn't like it, and he didn't disappoint. His first bath at home was a sad one in which he screamed the whole time. Don't be fooled by this picture. He looks happy, but we just happened to take the picture between screams.

We love our little Jack!

A day in the life of Jack

Today was our first full day at home with Jack. The day started out with Jack getting his finger nails clipped by dad. The rest of the day involved sleeping, eating, and looking cute! Thanks everyone for your love and support! Enjoy some pics of our little Jack.

Our Memorial Day Weekend!

We had a Memorial Day Weekend that we won't ever forget. Sunday we decided to take a walk in the botanical gardens

Not soon after this walk I started to feel some light contractions. Through the night they started to get stronger and stronger. Monday a little after noon they were really bad by 4:00 we were at the hospital and the pain was unbearable I was not a happy camper. At about 5:30 I had an epidural which was amazing, I went from horrible pain to perfect bliss! That's when we took this picture

At about 10:20 I started to push and about 20 minutes later we finally got to meet JACK!!! He decided to be perfectly punctual and show up on his due date.

He is our little chubbers! All 10 lbs. 2 oz. of him. I and everyone in the delivery room that night were in awe that that big guy really was in me, and came out of me! We really love his chubby cheeks!

This is my favorite picture of my boys. Dan is looking up at the tv screen watching the NBA Eastern Conference Finals, and Jack if he didn't like sleeping so darn much would have probably been watching too.

We got home Tuesday night at about 8:30 and we are so, so, so happy to be away from the hospital, me cause of all the noise all the time, Dan because he hates hospitals, and Jack cause nobody here pokes him with needles and prods around at his body. We love Jack and are so happy he is finally here!

Our First Garden

For F.H.E. tonight Dan and I planted our first garden! We planted cantelope, green peppers, yellow bell peppers, cucumbers, and a variety of tomatoes. We have a cute ground squirel living in our yard, and we are hoping to keep him away from our veggies. Wish us luck!

25 Years

Yesterday was Dan's 25th birthday! Dan woke up to some fun signs around the house and a waffle breakfast (his favorite). After breakfast he opened his presents (I couldn't wait any longer!).
While he was gone to school and work for the day I baked this pistachio cake. Dan has talked about how much he loved this cake growing up, so I got the recipe from his mom. It was really good! When Dan got home we made a trip to the nursery for some flowers. If you know Dan at all, you know that his happy place is roaming around the nursery and out planting things in the yard. Here is our end product, we had a lot of fun!

For dinner we went to eat at Don Jose's with Seth and Cindy. Check out Dan's huge burrito! They even came and sang to him and gave him a little flan cake :) Aren't birthdays fun?

Our Third Move This Year!

Dan and I were very blessed to get into student housing recently, which basically cuts our monthy rent in half! Even though I wouldn't recommend moving during your ninth month of pregnancy, it was nice to get it out of the way before Jack's arrival. It is crazy that one year ago (May 14th 08') we were all packed up to move to California, making this our third move this year! I am tired just thinking about it. Here are some pics of the house, keeping in mind that we haven't decorated yet! This is our front room/dining room. I am in love with the windows!

Here is our cozy kitchen. Even though I would rather the washer/dryer not be in here, I am just grateful that we finally live in a place that has hookups!

Here is Jacks room.

This is our room.

And here is our guest bedroom/office. As you can see it is still under construction! I will post pictures of the outside after we have worked on it. We have a little garden area and some flower beds. We are way excited about having a little yard!
